Consumer Protectionact passedin 24thDecember, 1986 and  the day is declared as national Consumers day and commemorating the national consumers day , ABGP organized several  programs for a period of 15 days as “ Pakshika “ starting from 15^th December to 31^st December. ABGP mainly focusing on five sectors likeFood, Health, Education, Environment/Housing, and Business. Series ofWebinars and Workshops were held during this period to educate itsmembers and General public. Guest speakers from experts in various fields participated.Consumer’s awareness is an act of making sure the buyer is aware of the information about Products, Goods, Services and Consumers rights.  Awareness is essential for all the consumers so that they take rightdecision and make right choice about the products and services while buying and selling.

ABGP is working since 1974 havingits vision and dream ofmaking the consumers free from exploitation .The Consumer protection act amended in 2019 and ABGP activities are spread in more than 400 districts across India.  During the National convention held at Bangalore had blue print of activityplan of ABGPfor 2022

During the SamaropaSamaramba (Valedictory session) on 31^st December, Honorable Minister for IT & BT and Higher Education of Karnataka , Dr.Ashwath Narayan , ProfessorDr.AshokPatilfrom National School of Law were the Chief Guests. While addressing the gathering Dr. Ashwath Narayan appreciated the ABGP activities and its importance in making Consumers free from exploitation. Professor Patil briefed on the Consumer Protectionacts and Consumer behavior in India.Sri NarayanbhaiSah,National President  expressed  the need of “Andolan and regular awareness program”  benefitting the society and  the nation in large.  Sri ArunDeshpande, National Secretary of ABGP addressed the gathering  withactivities of ABGP, its achievements and way forward. He also informed that the year 2022 will be celebrated as “Awareness year “.SmtSandhyaBagur,  newly nominated President of  ABGP Karnataka Prantand Sri DattatreyaNadig , GenealSccretary , ABGP Karnataka Prantand SmtGayathri , Women Leader,  ABGP Karnataka Prantand Mr. Rajesh Prasad , Organzing Secretary were present in the event. More than 300 ABGP members across the state representing from al the districts of Karnataka and from others states attended the function.

 Prior to the Valedictory session there was “ChaiPeCharcha”   Swagath Committee meeting was held. Sri Narayanbhai Shah, National President ABGP, Sri ArunDeshpande, National Secretary,ABGP, SmtNehaBehnji National Women Secretary ABGP chaired the session.. 

The Eminent leaders and experts from all the sectors including Food, Health, Education, Environment and Business/ Judiciary had interaction on the recent developments and way forward.

Sri Nrayanbhai Shah, President, ABGP and Sri ArunDeshpande National Secretary, ABGP addressed the gathering and excellent one to one discussion held on the various Consumer related issues in the country.

Exhibition was also organized during three days.  CFTRI, SahajaSamrudda Organics (FPO), FreshOn, from Food Sector  and other institutions from Health, Education, Environment and Business  sectors also exhibited with their Products and  Equipment.
